Hi, I’m Marcus,

Tens of clients and thousands readers a month use our material to succeed in the real world. I’ve also been featured in popular media platforms such as The Yellow Pages, Zula and GoodMenProject.
MarcusNeo.Com is a no B.S. personal development brand that started as a dating advice site for men focused on providing practical dating advice and social skills coaching for men. MarcusNeo.Com is gradually expanding into topics such as entrepreneurship and personal finance.
I Know You Have a Lots of Choices to Read, but Hear me Out
I started off my business as a dating and relationships coach. Successfully helping tens of clients and readers achieve their dating goals. Slowly, I figured, why don’t I use the same principles to focus on what actually works, not just for dating and relationships, but all aspects of life, namely, money, personal finance, business and fitness.
I hated the ‘feel good’ life advice out there: just get a degree and you’ll be set for life. Just work harder! Just be confident! Just be ‘positive’. I also hated all my counsellors, all the enrichment programs in school that told me to ‘dream big’ and ‘have goals’. Have you ever been to an expensive self help seminar, you felt good for 3 days, and you return to your old self after three days?
You see, life doesn’t work that way. I need to create something unique, out of the ordinary, something that allow to let me deadbeat honest. It couldn’t be boxed up into something a particular job, a role or anything else. This is why I started MarcusNeo.Com.
I publish everything from dating to entrepreneruship to personal finance:
- How to Pick Up Girls in Singapore
- How to Start Investing in Singapore
- How SIngapore Local SEO can Help you Double Your Side Hustle Income
I enjoyed taking a multiple disciplined approach to life. I couldn’t be boxed as a ‘finance guy’ or a ‘psychology guy’.
I also come from a humble background, a middle class family and stayed in a four room public flat in Singapore. I’m not someone who had a silver spoon or had any extra advantages in life.
For years, I led a life of quiet desperation, trapped in my own mental prison, thinking: Marcus, your path is to be an accountant, you NEED to get your accounting degree. You need to be realistic. That’s the ONLY path to success.
Everyone around me told me to succeed in life. You need to ‘just work harder’. I got pushed to tuitions 6 times a week, and hence I hated everything about school. I flunked my A Levels and dropped out of University after my first year.
I wasn’t a dumb kid, for years my teachers told me you have the potential, but you somehow squandered it all away. The worst feeling is asking yourself: what if?
Hence, I wasn’t deterred, I sourced for different mentors and resources for guidance. I started off freelancing as a digital marketing consultant and built the necessary skillsets to start my own business. It didn’t come easy. It took me 3-4 years to have the confidence to start my own business.
Through the years, I also pushed through some of my fears:
- It took me months muscle the courage to approach a beautiful girl in the club
- On my first solo trip to Philippines, I almost had an anxiety attack on the plane!
- I told myself for years that ‘I just can’t sing, that’s just not me’
I also made the life transformation of:
To someone that confidently built the social skills to connect with everyone and anyone from all over the world. I also had the dating life of my dreams and traveled all over the world solo.
I took these skills of mastery and replicate them in other areas of life. That’s exactly what I did.
- I went from a fear of swimming to my graduating from Open Water Diving course, I almost failed
- I went from a ‘I just can’t sing mentality’ to performing on stage
- I built a profitable business from my 4 Room HDB Flat in Singapore
- I went from losing 1/8 of my portfolio in one month to making a profit them without even looking at my account for years
- I went from failing my A Levels to acing my modules in a prestigious University, UC Berkeley
Through the years, I coached students that graduated from prestigious Universities. Sometimes, my clients are more than a older than I am. I barely am a Diploma holder in Singapore. I wasn’t supposed to ‘make it’, much less be a coach to others helping others succeed.
How did I build multiple skillsets in my life from social skills, to marketing and personal finance? I’ll let you in on my secret. It’s learning how to learn.
The Best Life Coaching Advice is To Teach Someone How to Learn
My first path to mastery is in my dating life. If you did project work in school, if you failed, you could blame it on others. That’s what I did for years. However, when it comes to your dating life, there are no excuses. If you didn’t get the girl, it just means you aren’t good enough. The feedback loop is direct. It’s one of the most direct manners to learn about life.
However, through that, I realized that if I could get good at girls and love, something that the majority thinks is left to luck.
I could get good anything.
For someone that flunked his A Levels, it didn’t deter me. I still read deeply into academic material and kept the academic route in mind. I taught myself how to study, by observing friends that are good at academics.
When I was a child, I almost drowned in front of my entire class. The instructor had to jump in and save me. However, I taught myself how to swim using the same psychologicaly strategies. I taught myself how to manage fear. I taught myself how to learn.
I used these same principles and applied them across multiple aspects of life. They helped me take on any skillset from marketing, copywriting, investing, talking to girls or public speaking.
I Take a Different approach From most of the ‘Life Coaching Experts’ out There
Let me ask you then, who would you rather take life advice from?
- The usual life coaches that tell you to ‘follow your passion’ or someone that actually took action?
- someone who constantly brags about his success or someone who’s open about his failures?
- Unscientific NLP programs, woo-woo self-help or psychologically tested strategies?
- 3-days quick fix promises or a permanent lifelong change?
Here at MarcusNeo.Com, our advice is backed up by decades of research and testing. No sugar coating, no random tactics, just step by step systems that work in the real world. I also give away 98% of my material free of charge. I don’t believe in lecturing you about ‘just working harder’. Instead, I show you how to focus on systems that compound in all areas of your life. Master those and you master all areas of life.
- Our No B.S. Tough Love, No Sugar Coaching Approach
Here’s what a female reader emailed me:
‘Your without-thinking (ie the truth) answer when I asked if I needed to lose some weight, was amusing and also a light bulk moment. Your immediate response, without even a tinge of hesitation or incorporating some diplomacy, certainly caught my attention and this matter then certainly moved higher up on the to-do lists.’

How my Life Coaching Advice Differs from the Majority
- Environment Matters a lot More Than You Think
You and I are cognitive misers and are a lot more influenced by our environmental influences. Just by telling yourself to ‘be motivated’, ‘overcome all obstacles at all cost’ isn’t going to work.
Here are the common problems I hear friends and family face:
- You’re someone who wants to better their dating lives but never get around to it.
- You’re someone who wants to increase your level of income but fail to start that side business of yours.
- You’re someone who finally wants to get his or her health right but always lost motivation after a week.
- You want to start learning how to invest and make your first trade, but you put it off year after year, never actually doing it.
You need to create leverage in your environment for you to alter your behaviour.
- Habits and Systems Over Goals
Goals in general are fun to make but hard to follow through. This is why I don’t pay attention to New Year Resolutions.
Over the years I hear people tell me different stories at different points of their lives. Well guess what, those are the exact bullshit that I told myself for years, only to have it them unfounded year after year. Well, here’s the doozy truth about willpower. You don’t need more of that. What you need are habits and systems.
- The Myth of The Law of Attraction and ‘Positive Thinking’
Stop sitting around in your room waiting for something to happen. You need to go out and build skillsets. You’re not going to start making money from the stock marketing until you learn how to invest and made your first investment. You’re not going to start a business until you attained the skillsets to do so. You’re not going to make your first dollar until you get your product or service in front of others, through marketing skillsets such as local SEO.
